MEET THE TRAINER

Meet Kaitlynn Schmitz, a professional dog trainer dedicated to helping dogs and their families build stronger relationships through clear communication, trust, and effective training.

She is a graduate of SUNY Cobleskill, where she earned a degree in Canine Training and Management. Over the past five years, Kaitlynn have worked extensively with dogs of all ages, breeds, and behavioral backgrounds, specializing in basic obedience, behavior modification, puppy development, and detection work.

Much of her professional experience has involved working with challenging shelter dogs, helping them develop the skills needed to become adoptable companions. Her work doesn't stop at adoption—she also assist families during the transition home by providing continued training and support to help both dogs and owners succeed together.

Kaitlynn have experience addressing common behavioral concerns such as leash pulling, jumping, lack of impulse control, separation-related behaviors, reactivity, and confidence building. Whether she's working with a new puppy, an adolescent dog, or an adult dog with established behavioral challenges, her goal is always to create practical, sustainable results that improve everyday life for both the dog and their family.

Kaitlynn has been wonderful to work with! She made training easy to understand and gave us simple steps to practice with Raina at home. We've already seen improvements in her focus, walking, and basic obedience. Kaitlynn is patient, knowledgeable, and always takes the time to answer our questions. We look forward to continuing our training journey with her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for help with their dog!

Training Policies

At Top Dogs Club, we want every pup (and parent!) to have a positive, safe, and rewarding training experience. To help keep our classes effective and organized, please review the following policies before booking:

We require at least 72 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Payments are non-refundable, but with advance notice, we will happily apply your credit toward a future class cycle.

Group Classes

Your spot in class or private training is only confirmed once payment has been received. This ensures fairness to all families waiting for a spot.

Payments

We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or reschedules. Less than 24 hours’ notice will result in forfeiting the session fee.

Cancellations & Refunds

Make-Up Classes

  • For basic-level group classes (such as Puppy Foundations or Manners & Life Skills), if you notify us in advance that you’ll be absent, we will provide the week’s homework and—if space allows—offer one make-up class.

  • Specialty classes (such as Trick Training or Leash Walking Foundations) do not allow make-ups, due to their structured progression and limited size.

  • If you miss a class without notice, we unfortunately cannot offer a make-up.

Dog Behavior & Safety

  • Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations and in good health to attend classes.

  • If you have any concerns about your dog’s comfort level with new dogs, people, or environments, please reach out before registering. We’re happy to advise whether group classes or private training is the best fit.

  • For safety reasons, any dog who, in the trainer’s professional opinion, poses a risk to another dog or person may be asked to transfer from group training to private sessions.

General Guidelines

  • Please arrive on time for both group and private training. This helps your pup start in a calm state and ensures you get the full value of your session.

  • For in-home training, have your pup’s favorite treats, toys, and any relevant supplies ready before the trainer arrives.

  • For daycare training add-ons, be sure your pup is scheduled for daycare on the same day as their session.
